The S-3 uses a two-vane, semi-open impeller designed for solids-laden liquids and slurries.

Pump-out vanes on the impeller shroud help reduce foreign-material buildup behind the impeller and reduce pressure on the seal and bearings, supporting reliable operation and easier maintenance.
